Company History
The idea of Rock Star Catering Co came to life when the owner, Deana Stout, was hired as part of the craft service crew of the movie “White Fang,” which was being filmed in her small community of Haines, Alaska. It was then that she realized that she enjoyed the challenge of making good food for folks who were hungry, in a tent with a camp stove.
The following summer, she was hired to serve lunch to a film crew who were shooting a commercial on location (a small island) for Royal Caribbean Cruises. From that moment on, Rock Star Catering Co became a reality.
After that, Deana became known for helping people with their culinary needs in far-off places and at home, be it a wedding on a beach, a birthday party in the woods, a festival in different communities, or a sit-down banquet for 200.
Some of the most notable moments for Rock Star Catering Co were catering for the Bald Eagle Music Festival and feeding Leo Kottke, Jonathan Edwards, Taj Mahal, and Patty Larkin pacific salmon. There was an article about us in the August 2000 edition of “Bon Appetit” magazine, featuring some of our owner’s recipes. We catered for the memorial service held for “Gold Rush Grampa” John Schnabel in 2016.
Whether it’s breakfast scones for river rafting adventurers, a sit-down banquet for the NRA, or a quiet wedding at the cove, meals are always tasty and healthy with Rock Star Catering Co.
